Nope! As a matter of fact, Rockford reached a high of 44 degrees that rocketed our city into the record books for the 8th warmest Christmas in history. Either way, it was a great day!
Festivities began Christmas Eve with a gathering at G & G's. Traditional pork roast, potatoes, scalloped corn, lefse, lutefisk (yuck) :) Great memories with family!
Christmas morning was wonderful. Made breakfast for my dad and visited. J and I had already gifted each other (Nooks). Sammy received a new blanket to lay on...Long story short, he has taken over every blanket in this house. The softer the better. Jason and I joke that he likes them because they are soft and probably remind him of his mother. So, he has one blanket that is now referred to as his "mother"..We can say "go lay on your mother" and he goes to lay on his blanket. This Christmas, Sammy received his 2nd "mother". He promptly dragged it out of the bag (yes, I wrapped it) and sniffed, licked, rubbed on and immediately layed down. :) It was so cute that it brought him such happiness.
The rest of the day was calm and restful. We watched the start of the NBA season, and I finished a book.
Today (the 26th) was the most productive day I've had all winter break. We did a much needed deep clean of the house. I then got a 2nd wind and began to organize our closet and do laundry. It felt so good, but now I'm pooped!!
Stay tuned for updates throughout the week. I'll be sharing my Word for 2012! Can't wait!!!!
